The opportunity to take part in workshops and study under recognized artist-masters is something that is rarely possible for me in the here and now. They're far away, they're prohibitively expensive, they involve having the luxury of a week or more of vacation time. But when an artist whose work I had admired posted that she was offering a two day workshop in none other than Glens Falls, NY, and the expense was almost in my comfortable affordability range, I signed up. To sign up, I had to pay the dues to become a member of the sponsoring Upper Hudson Watercolor Society. OK! Kind of like I'm a member of the American Watercolor Association or such, right?
Here's my sole surviving exercise from the Sarah Yeoman workshop last month: Lots of wetness. No relationship to any photo reference. Unfinished? And here's the rub: it's the only work I've had sitting around (and I have a lot of my painting trials sitting around) that my man has glanced at and said, without prompting,"Nice," in a very long time. Hmm.

I like it, too!
ReplyDeleteSpot on with this write-up, I actually think this website wants way more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read rather more, thanks for that info. casino play
