So as not to be simply rendering, but to be adding a touch of something else to Ask's portrait, I played up the elongation, the sinuous S curvature...and perhaps the shading under his left eye.
I am seeing some wonderful progress in your work. I sort of dropped out of the blogging scene while taking a class. You need to give yourself a pat on the back for achieving successful portraits with a difficult medium. I hope your medical woes get corrected soon. It's hard to focus on anything creative when you don't feel good. All the best.
