Admirable Subjects, Dubious Results

Well, it was supposed to be Eleanor Roosevelt. (I decided to paint from online reference photos of good people rather than um, people like in the last post.) I guess my likeness if off by a mile or so--like--shouldn't she have wrinkles? A narrower face? A dress with a collar?
I do like the way her hair on the left side looks against the background, though.

I also took a stab at painting a copy of Teddy, by J. S. Sargent. He was The Master!  I mean JSS, but in some respects, one could also say that about TR.
