I Do Love Color

I've fit a few small portrait sketches into my afternoons of late. Definitely more fun than dusting, doing the taxes or the grocery shopping, or chipping the ice off the driveway!

I had been using water-mixable oil paints until this sketch, when I unearthed some oil paints that had been socked away a long time ago. This guy was done with oil colors and water-mixable white. The two paints seemed to work together alright.

    Wow! This is a very good direction for you to go. I like your watercolor portraits, but your use of oil adds so much more character and body to your work.
